"Werewolves in Their Youth"

If you have additional comments about the Chabon short story "Werewolves in Their Youth," post them here. Please try to add new ideas about the story; don't just rehash what was already said in class discussion.

In class, we argued about which character, Timothy or Paul, was the stronger character. The discussion went both ways with no definite conclusion. It is at this point in which I believe we need to define which aspect of their character we are comparing. When we are comparing emotional strength, which one is stronger? When we are comparing physical strength, which one is stronger? When we are comparing social strength, which one is stronger? When we are comparing mental/psychological strength, which one is stronger? The answers for each of these differ and the strength of the total character depends on each of these aspects. With this in mind, who really is stronger?
